DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV)
Det Norske Veritas (DNV) is an independent organization dedicated to the safety of our offshore people, products and environment. As such, they produce the standards of certification to maximize and globally standardize the criteria for safety in all offshore containers.
In 1989, DNV produced the first Certification Note specifically addressing offshore containers. This is DNV Certification Note 2.7-1 and is globally accepted as the minimum standards in offshore container certification.
That is why ALL of our offshore containers are DNV 2.7-1 Certified!
In 1995, the Certification Note was revised extensively in regard to the lifting sling used to transport the containers from the ship to the offshore platform.
That is why ALL of our offshore containers include the appropriate DNV 2.7-1 Certified Lifting Sling fitted with Crosby Safety Pin Bow Shackles.
EN 12079 is the European standard for certification of offshore containers and it was based on DNV 2.7-1. Thus, a container certified to the DNV 2.7-1 standard will also meet the EN 12079 standard.

Lease vs. Purchase
The offshore industry standard has been to simply lease the containers on a daily basis. With an average leasing charge of $35 per day, you would spend more in one year than it would cost to purchase and own your offshore container.
